Initial Treatment Planning

Treatment planning involves diagnosis and goal setting based on symptoms and individual history. This stage of treatment is usually completed within the first session called the intake, during which Dr. Rabideau will inquire about a client’s current struggles and about their past and present circumstances. The process of diagnosing mental health symptoms incorporates information gained from the one-on-one intake appointment with Dr. Rabideau and the online assessments. In addition, the purpose of the intake appointment is to build a safe and comfortable working relationship and collaborate to identify the goals for treatment. If separate therapies or treatment may be helpful, referrals will be discussed.

Individual Psychotherapy

Dr. Rabideau works collaboratively with adult clients to help them improve quality of life, facilitate symptom management, and promote adaptive coping. She works from a Cognitive-Behavioral foundation, which targets psychogical symptoms by focusing on how our thoughts, experiences, and actions affect our emotions and choices. This understanding helps us all harness the capabilities of our minds to improve our self-perception, functioning, and self-care. Dr. Rabideau also incorporates techniques from a range of evidence-based therapies to tailor treatment for each individual’s unique biological, psychological, and social needs and struggles.

Maintenance & Prevention

Therapy may be an important part of mental health maintenance even when symptoms are more manageable. A critical part of lifelong mental health is working daily to maintain mental health hygiene, which can be easier or more challenging depending on life stressors and responsibilities. Therapy can be used to support a client’s efforts to maintain mental health and prevent the onset of symptoms in the future. This stage of treatment focuses on polishing symptom management, facilitating healthy changes, and supporting mental health hygiene routines.
